Whether you are looking to add a new space to your home, or creating more use out of an existing space, you have three types of rooms to choose from. In this section we will unpack the differences between a four season or year-round sunroom, three season sunroom, and screen room.
You can use these sunrooms all year round, no matter where you live. Four season sunrooms are fully enclosed spaces with insulation and heating and cooling, enabling you to comfortably use the space every season of the year. You will be free to enjoy the outdoors without worrying about pollen, inclement weather, or insects. For ultimate climate control, we install a heating and cooling system. Choose from Aluminum or Vinyl (reinforced with aluminum or steel framing). Structural thermal breaks in the frame and our double-pane insulated glass help keep your energy costs down. Your design consultant will recommend construction elements based on how you plan to use the room.
This is our most popular sunroom type. Enjoy these rooms from spring through fall or longer depending on how long the seasons last in Hampton Roads. Constructed with a durable aluminum frame, this room is a classic in quality and workmanship. Depending on your planned use of the room, three season sunrooms are available with single-pane glass or double-pane insulated glass. Your design consultant will be able to recommend the construction elements right for your needs. Unlike the all-season room and solarium, three season sunrooms are not designed to be heated or cooled on an ongoing basis.
Want fresh air? Our nearly invisible black aluminum screens enclose this room to give you maximum visibility. Enjoy flowing air and protection from bugs. Screen enclosures are perfect for balconies, porches and multi-floor buildings, townhouses and condominiums. Our screen system is fully convertible to single pane or fully insulated glass. The glass can be added later for extended seasonal use. Learn more about how you can covert a screen room or porch into a three or four season sunroom in this blog.
Enclosing your existing porch or patio is a great way to extend the use of your space and adding value to your home while protecting you from the outside elements and pesky bugs. Whether you are looking to enclose your porch to create a screen room, a three season sunroom, or year round sunroom, ECCO Sunroom & Awning has you covered. Converting a porch into a sunroom is more affordable and quicker than a traditional sunroom addition. A porch conversion is half the cost and takes half the time of a custom sunroom addition. Learn more about the in’s and out’s of converting a screen room or porch into a three or four season sunroom in this blog.
Once you have determined if you would like a year-round, three-season, or screen room, next you will want to determine the dimensions of the space. When designing your space, consider the dimensions required in order to have the sunroom of your dreams. ECCO Sunroom’s design consultant will guide you through this process, taking care to abide by any regulations and to stay within your budget.
ECCO Sunroom offers many options for the exterior and interior look of your sunroom. Determine the height of your walls. The walls of your space can be floor to ceiling window, or have a knee wall. Knee walls can be designed in foam, glass, screen or wood. The wall panels and frame can be designed with an aluminum or vinyl frame. Frame colors come in a variety of options including: white, sandstone and bronze. Our finishes provide the highest resistance to scratching, fading, peeling, and chipping — giving you great color for the life of your room. Our neutral color palette ensures your enclosure will coordinate with your existing home.
Made to seamlessly integrate with the exterior of your home, ECCO can design your sunroom roof with gable, single-slope, or using an existing roof structure. Roof material options include wood, glass, or shingle to match your home. Your room’s roof style can be either a single-sloped roof or a gabled roof. Both roof styles are rated with a wind load of 80-100 mph and a snow load of 30 lbs. per square foot. Additional roof options include different thickness options and roof panel colors – in white and sandstone.
